May 3, 2011 Whalesong

What do you think is the main point of the article "Humpback Whales Rock Some Tunes?" I think the main point of that article is how Humpback Whales make music. How it travels around the world in a year or two. One whale pod will start a song then another whale pod will catch it and maybe change it a little bit.

What action can you take to help out? I can send donations or donate my time but if I'm going to give away my money I'm going to give it to someone that is helping save the whales not just recording them sing.

Why should you help? To save them not to help them record them singing. That's not going to stop people from killing them for money.

I think this main point on humpback whales rock some tune.Is letting everyone know that humpback whales are real smart and that we shouldnt be killing them...the action i take to help out would be listen to the music and see how it get all around the world to other whales...everyone should help because we need the whales..

whales endangered

http://online.wsj.com/article/SB125745793337231859.html

all of those people that are out there you should stop kill the whales. some of you people dont care about the animals and some of use do but alote of us kill them for food or somthing ulse try to look at it in there shoes if you were them how would you feel. think of if you were one of those whales and you were just a kid whale and you just saw your mom or dad get taken from the water right in front of your eyes how would you feel think about what you do before you do it cause it could just change the world someday. some people say that the songs that they sing is to find a mate or to worn other fish but what i think is that those songs that they sing is to all of the other whales that have been killed of captuered for some kind of use.

Week four!!!!!!!!!!!! Breanne,Drew,Amanda

1. What influenced Jordan in his goal to climb the Seven Summits? Which influences came from outside Jordan? Which ones came from within Jordan?
He saw a poster in school that influenced him to want to climb the seven summits. His dad was the influence that came from the outside of Jordan and made him believe that it was possible.  The influence that came from within side of Jordan was that this is something that he wanted to do because no one ever accomplished it.
 2. What challenges did Team Jordan face during the final climb to Everest’s summit? There came a avalanche and Jordan slipped and the spikes that were on his boot stabbed his dad in the leg.  The avalanche barely missed them but to climbers that were farther down weren’t as lucky one died one was injured.  They were tired and out of breath and they were climbing 14 hours.
3.The author includes several examples of climbers who died on the mountain. Why do you think he does this? To give a example of how dangerous this climb really is and if you attempt it can cause death, that many have tried few have succeeded.
 4. Some have criticized Team Jordan for putting a young person at risk. Do you think a 13-year-old is too young for such a dangerous feat? No I don’t he is old enough to make his choice and his parents were right by him for support and help.
5. What was most important to Jordan about climbing the mountain? What can others take away from Jordan’s experience?  The fact that Jordan is the only thirteen-year-old who has ever climbed the seven summits. Others can learn that even though things are hard and terrible he still pushed through.

He is trying to find ways to rekindle their love and marriage.

#3:  Identify 2 or 3 possible topics for class discussion using this blog.
I think we should all discuss rather we all think blogging and commenting is a mature thing to do in school. Personally i think it's immature and that they should not teach you to blog in school, its different if you have to do something like that for you career, not in school.

Week 3 questions. Kelly Smith

The girls were brave, because they put a fight and stood up for their rights.

Week three!!!!!!!! Breanne Lund

#2:  Persuade your classmates to read (or not read) the book you are reading for recreation.  Give specific examples of what makes it a good read (or not).

The Lost boy is really good it is the second book to the Boy called it this boy named David now has got away from his abusive mom. He is now in a foster home and he begins to get a attitude and rebel really bad and he thinks deserves to.

#3:  Identify 2 or 3 possible topics for class discussion using this blog.

Why do some countries think that women don’t have the same right as men.  O r why  do some people think that color has something to do with the fact that they don’t have the right to learn like everyone else.

Week Three!!!!!!!!!! Breanne Lund

A)   Both girls showed incredible bravery in the face of their abuse. Explain/Compare/Contrast how both girls reacted to their ordeals.
The first girl pushed forward and tried to get in the school to spite what people thought or did to her. Then the girl and eight other students got to go into school with 1,000 soldires, but the kids in side school were still mean to her.  The second girl didn’t have students that were really mean to her the people in society were awful.  When there government decided to finally pass the law for girls to go to school they were treated like outcast.  The girl had acid thrown in her face on the way to school one day and some people there girls home because they were afraid all together.  But the big difference between the two girls is the first girl started to have a great life after a while. But the second girl will continue to have problems because there country is closed minded like are country once was.
B)   How would you have handled the situation? Describe a situation in which you displayed courage.
I think that these girls were really brave and in a situation like this I think that I could be brave and just push forward. I remember when a man came up to me and ask me why I have a Jesus shirt on but the way he said it was rude. I began to tell him I am a Christian and he began to call me all kinds of names and even spit on my shirt and called me a dame Jesus lover.
